Dog food

Easy way to supply good nutrition for your dog, be green and save money is to cook for him or her.
I do one big batch once a week:
1/3 of meat, 1/3 of vegetables and 1/3 of rice.
There are many options what you can put in, I like to use what we have (vegetable scraps when I cook human food), meat on sale etc...
I never put onion in but I do cook with garlic,  There are mixed opinions on the topic, I did my research and I believe a few cloves a week are fine and will protect the dog from ticks.
I keep the food in container in the fridge.
Dogs are not as thirsty when they eat this kind of food (compared to dried granules) and they can enjoy more of it (yes labs love to eat) and get the same nutrients.
By the way I don't really enjoy cooking, but happy to do this for our furry family member.
